Help make this beautiful film about Fr. Peyton: LifeFunder

LONDON, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — Plans for a feature film based on the life of the Venerable Patrick Peyton, the “Rosary Priest,” were announced on September 8, the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, along with the launch of a fundraising campaign.

During his lifetime (1909-1992), the Irish-American Father Peyton became internationally famous for his Family Rosary Crusade and motto “The family that prays together, stays together.” He was declared “venerable” by Pope Francis in December 2017, one of the steps towards possible canonization.

The screenplay for the movie is based on Fr. Peyton’s autobiography, “All For Her.”

Canadian singer and screenwriter Michelle Iurman, the director of the production company developing the film, has also launched a LifeFunder.

“Unlike other bio-pics, this will not be a documentary film, but a ‘Peyton-ly’ accurate screenplay/feature film as told in Father Patrick Peyton’s own words in his autobiography,” she wrote to potential patrons.

“How he was given his great faith and the tradition of reciting the daily Family Rosary by his family in Ireland; how he had a miraculous healing and vocational ‘calling’ while in the United States; and how London, Ontario, Canada, made his life’s work all possible by assisting him in his great mission on the ‘Rosary Path of Prayer’ to Sainthood that made him known around the world as the famous ‘Rosary Priest’.”

“The LifeFunder is “Phase One of our vocation for this project, the research and writing of the screenplay,” she added.

Phase Two of the campaign will be launched following the completion of Phase One and will fund “the feature film production/promotion of ‘All For Her,’ leading to an international release of the film.”

Iurman explained in the LifeFunder description that “monies raised for Phase One will cover two full-time employees and day-to-day office expenses for two years, the possibility of research in parts of Ireland, the United States and Canada, and the writing of the screenplay.”

She hopes that this new movie will help to continue the spread of the priest’s campaign for the Family Rosary across the globe.

“This is one of the greatest love stories ever told,” Iurman wrote on her “Full of Grace Productions” LifeFunder page.

“[A love] between a holy and humble priest and his Most Blessed Mother—and the simple but potent truth that when we put God and His Holy Will first place in our lives, miraculous things do happen, and good fruits do stem from family prayer and the intercessory prayer of the greatest weapon of all ages against evil—the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.”

Iurman began the film project after promising Fr. Thomas Feeley, the first vice-postulator of Fr. Peyton’s cause for canonization, that she would work with him to further the cause of the Rosary Priest.

Making a movie of the priest’s story fits well into the legacy he left on earth. To aid his evangelization efforts, Fr. Peyton founded Family Theater Productions, which began as a radio show featuring Hollywood stars and continues today by producing various media content for families. Meanwhile, London, Ontario, the birthplace of Full of Grace Productions, was also where Fr. Peyton’s launched his first “Family Rosary Crusade” in 1948.

As another contribution to the efforts to have the Rosary Priest’s canonized, Holy Cross Family Ministries has started the Father Peyton Prayer Guild. This organization is dedicated to praying that Fr. Peyton becomes a “Saint for Family Prayer,” for the ongoing work of his mission, and for families around the world.
