ANAHEIM, California (LifeSiteNews) – A pediatrician who advocates for the genital and chemical mutilation of children recently praised a gender-confused boy who committed suicide.
Dr. Morissa Ladinsky gave a talk at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) conference Tuesday where she described how the boy, who went by “Leelah,” killed himself by walking in front of a tractor.
“And then the final days of 2014, a local 16-year-old young lady, Leelah Alcorn, of trans experience, stepped boldly in front of a tractor-trailer ending her life,” said Ladinsky, a pediatrician and professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham who has sued to overturn Alabama’s ban on “gender transitions” for minors.
Ladinsky praised the “suicide note” for going viral on social media. “Each day, on the way to work, I passed that spot, where this teen boldly ended her life, pleading,” Ladinsky says, before the video ends.
The pediatrician said she did not “treat” Alcorn but that she “took care of hundreds” of the gender-confused boy’s high school classmates.

Julia Mason, a pediatrician affiliated with the Society for Evidence Based Gender Medicine, posted the video after attending the event.

Ladinsky made the comments during her presentation titled “Standing up for Gender-Affirming Care.”
“Faculty will discuss the current public policy landscape on gender-affirming care as well as the impact on children and families,” the description stated. “Examples of successful strategies to oppose state efforts to weaken protections for transgender/gender-diverse youths and that criminalize treatment for these patients and resources to make a difference for youths and their families will be shared.”
LifeSiteNews contacted AAP spokeswoman Jamie Poslosky on Thursday morning and asked for a full copy of the presentation or a transcript of Ladinsky’s remarks. LifeSiteNews also asked if the AAP endorsed the comments and if there was anything left out of Mason’s video which provided fuller context. Poslosky did not respond.
UAB’s Department of Pediatrics did not respond to a request for comment from Ladinsky on her remarks.
Mason did not respond to a Twitter message that asked for any other video footage and comment.
